The Ventura is a faithful tribute to the original 1957 model, which made
watch-making history as the world’s first electrical, battery powered
watch. Design detail of the case of the new model mirrors that of its
ancestors. The dial is reminiscent of the 1950s Ventura timepieces,
complete with digit markings all culminating in an embossed rounded
point looking like atoms.
The relationship between Hamilton and Elvis Presley dates back to
1961 when the King wore the distinctive Hamilton Ventura in the movie
‘Blue Hawaii’. Later the rock 'n roll icon purchased the same model for
his personal use. In 2010, Hamilton celebrated the life of Elvis Presely
on what would have been his 75th birthday by introducing two special
models of the Ventura. Both models offer the distinctive, shield-shaped
timepiece. One model is a replica of the original 1950’s model and one
is an XXL version with automatic movement.
The Hamilton History is a 120 years long and eventful travel from
Lancaster PA to Biel the world capital of watchmaking in Switzerland.
Today highlights from Hamilton pioneering role in the worlds of
aviation, cinema, electric and digital technology shape the collection.
The Hamilton watches have unique shapes, personality and design
combining the American spirit with Swiss technologies.
