Design: Rainer Mahlamäki
Pateo (Latin for open passage)
The Pateo watch is 31mm square (1.2″) in size making it perfect for both men and women and comes in two versions.
The Museum will have a permanent exhibition space under the main
hall. Special built-in milieus will present the different aspects of
the history of the Polish Jews. The design vignette on the watch dial
is a two-dimensional representation of the most notable architectural
element found in the main hall of the museum; a pure and silent space
which literally carves a passage for visitors to discover the museum
and the history therein.

aptly describes the design element of the watch, as well as the history
of the Jews in Poland. The Museum is located in what was the Warsaw
Ghetto during World War II and is scheduled to open in 2012. In Pateo
design process Mahlamäki has been assisted by Architect Jukka
Savolainen.
