In 1882, Ariste Calame founded a workshop for the production of special watches in Le Locie, Switzerland, which would later become Zodiac. The son of a watchmaker, Calame was obsessed with the thought of creating the most precise watch of all time. The result of his careful work became the first Zodiac - a pocket watch with a unique character. Thus, the foundation had been laid for a whole series of technical wonders in the world of Swiss watches. Because of their high quality and technical innovations, Calame's dynasty managed to become one of the fastest growing companies in Switzerland.
All watches in the Zodiac collection are Swiss-made. To be certified
and classified in this elite category, a watch must satisfy two main
criteria. First, their movement must be both Swiss-crafted and cased in
Switzerland. Second, the manufacturer must conduct the final inspection
of the timepiece in Switzerland, and in accordance with the world's
most rigorous standards for quality, precision and craftsmanship.
